Unveiled in 2023, the new UH Mānoa College of Engineering logo was designed out of love by Jalene Kanani Hitzeman, Native Hawaiian textile designer and founder of Noho Home. After multiple brainstorming sessions with the College’s leadership team, Jalene came up with the final design, the elements of which reflect the core values of the College including UH’s role as a Native Hawaiian place of learning, the necessity of recalling the past to inform the future, its service to the community through problem-solving and innovation, and a kuleana to aloha ‘āina.
