Incoming Students Guide (includes info on placement exams, what to register for in your first semester, and pre-engineering)
If you have additional advising questions that cannot be answered on this page, please contact the Engineering Advising team at email@example.com
To ensure a smooth transition into your academic program, we invite you to schedule your advising appointment with our Engineering Advising Team. Students without previous college credits for precalculus/calculus and chemistry will need to see the advising guide for information on taking the math and chemistry placement exams before they register. To maximize your time during the appointment, please first review the above Incoming Students Guide and Check Sheet documents for your program(s) of interest.
Alternatively (or in addition), you may schedule an appointment with one of our outstanding Engineering Student Ambassadors. See more details below on how to do so.
Your Welcome Ambassadors
Our team of Engineering Student Ambassadors (ESAs) are current students who are here to welcome you to the college and answer any questions you might have about academics or student life at the College of Engineering. Feel free to use your ESA as a resource as you prepare for the start of school.
We invite you to schedule a 30-minute mentoring session, to be held via phone or Zoom with an ESA, any time between now and the start of school. During the session, your ESA will provide basic first-year advising support and help you learn all about the opportunities available to you in the college, from a student perspective. We recommend you schedule a mentoring session before your formal advising appointment (more details on that in the next section), as the ESAs can answer many of your questions first. To schedule your appointment, please reach out to the ESA assigned to you, based on the first two letters of your last name.
Schedule your mentoring session!
