Professor Wayne Shiroma and his team are hosting the 2017 International Microwave Symposium (IMS2017), the world’s largest international conference devoted to the research, development, and application of RF and microwave theory and techniques; drawing over 8,000 participants and 500 exhibiting companies from around the world. IMS2017 will be held June 4–9, 2017 at the Hawai‘i Convention Center, and offers technical sessions, interactive forums, plenary and panel sessions, workshops, short courses, industrial exhibits, application seminars, historical exhibits, and a wide variety of other technical and social activities. The theme is “Hawai‘i 5G: Catch the Wave” – building on Hawai’i’s unique historical role in radar and wireless technologies, while also looking forward to fifth-generation technologies that will power tomorrow’s Internet of Things, Internet of Space, automotive radar for driver-less cars, and more.
