Lambros Mitropoulos – President.

Lambros graduated from the University of Brighton in 2005 with a Bachelor and Master of Science degree in Civil engineering. In 2006 he completed the intercollegiate Master of Science course in Transport in the Imperial College and the University College of London. Lambros is currently in the fourth year of his Ph.D program in the University of Hawai’I, Manoa, in Transportation Sustainability and Planning. He conducts research on the development of a sustainability framework for the assessment of urban transportation modes. His areas of interest include sustainable transportation, urban transportation, public transit and lifecycle assessment.

He currently works as a Research Assistant in the Traffic and Transportation Laboratory (TTL) in the University of Hawai’i, he is a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization and he participates in the Statewide Pedestrian Master Plan. He is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), the Greek Technical Chamber of Professional Engineers and other professional organizations. Lambros joined the ITE as a student member in January 2008 and he is the president of the student chapter since June 2010.

Xin Alyx Yu – Vice President.

Alyx has graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in June 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree of science in Traffic Engineering. He received his master degree in Civil Engineering in 2009 and he is currently in his second year of a Doctoral program at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in the Transportation Engineering. His area of interest is in transportation planning, intersection traffic treatments and traffic detectors. He is currently a research assistant in Civil Engineering Department. Alireza Abrishamkar – Secretary.

Alireza graduated from Isfahan University of Technology in September 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Structural). He is currently in his second year of a Masters program at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in the Transportation Engineering field. His area of interest is in traffic simulation, vehicle tracking, capacity analysis, and telecommuting. He is currently a research assistant in Civil Engineering Department. Alireza joined the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) as a student member in Spring 2009 and he is the secretary of the student chapter since Summer 2010.

Maja Caroee – Treasurer.

Maja graduated from Engineering College of Aarhus, Denmark in January 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering. She is currently enrolled in her first year of her Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering. Maja’s research focuses on uncertainties in traffic demand modeling. Maja has previous engineering experience with COWI A/S, Denmark in the Infrastructure Division. Maja joined the Hawaii ITE Student chapter in January 2010.
