LETTER OF INVITATION TO ATTEND ISEC-01
This letter formally invites all authors, co-authors, presenters, structural engineering and construction professionals, and personnel from the press to attend the First International Structural Engineering and Construction Conference (ISEC-01), Honolulu, Hawaii, January 24-27, 2001.
The conference aims to promote the international interaction and communication between structural and construction engineers. The organizers are proud to observe that this will be the first international conference in structural engineering and construction, and more so, the first at the dawn of the new millennium.
One hundred and sixty-six papers are being published in 1000 pages in the conference proceedings, published in the Netherlands by Swets & Zeitlinger. The theme of the conference is "Creation of Systems for Future Technologies." More than 200 participants from 30 countries are expected.
The conference has been co-sponsored by American Concrete Institute and CIB; promoted by the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International; and endorsed by Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies and Hawaii Department of Transportation (Hwys).
We look forward to your attendance and participation. It is through international participation and cooperation such as this that international understanding can increase and help in the better management of structural and construction projects of the 21st century.
Regards,
Amarjit Singh, PhD, PEng, CEng
Conference Chair, ISEC-01
