The Great Aloha Run
Early on Monday morning, February 21, 1994. Over 30,000 people woke up to make
this 8.25 mile charity(?) walk.
Justin and
myself were two of those 30,000+ people who participated in this
event. We rode in the night to Aloha Stadium, where there were many buses
waiting to take us to downtown. (I think we caught the second-to-last one
too...) After 2 miles, we were tired... But that spiffy Great Aloha Run
T-shirt was in our minds, and it kept us running (walking and stopping
rather).
Are we there yet?

Justin and Ben at the 5.5 mile mark... "Okay, let's run up to the corner."
After the run, we grabbed as much free food and drink as we could stuff in our
parched selves, and were treated to a great show by a group of parachuters
from the military. (And afterwards, a not-so-great show by a loud Marine band
and a really "fair" prize give-away... NOT!)
All in all, we had a grand time... Why not join us next year?
