Welcome!

Welcome to the University of Hawaii Student Chapter of ASME! The American Society of Mechanical Engineers is an international professional organization that defines codes and standards, sets ethical guidelines, and provides forums for new technology. The student chapters exist as support networks for students in mechanical engineering, and as an introduction to the mechanical engineering industry.

Student chapters of ASME provide many services to students of Mechanical Engineering. These services include helping beginning students to understand the opportunities and responsibilities that mechanical engineers have. They also include developing student interest in engineering through field trips and guest speakers. By seeing production and hearing from people in the field, engineering students learn more about engineering and its advantages. Along the way, ASME provides its members with opportunities for student employment and for scholarships. Finally, the student chapter aids its graduating members to find jobs through resume books and career fairs.
