Information on admissions to the College of Engineering

Undergraduate Admissions Requirements

The application process:

    • Submit a completed UH Manoa application form to the UH Manoa Admissions & Records office.
        • Be sure to indicate intended major as one of three engineering departments (Civil & Environmental, Electrical, or Mechanical) that you are interested in majoring in.
            • If you are undecided, just put down the department you are most interested in.  Once you have been accepted into the engineering program, you can easily change departments.
    • The UH Admissions & Records office will review your application and if it meets the general requirements for admission to UH Manoa, they will send the application to our College of Engineering office.
    • When it reaches our College of Engineering office, our academic advisor reviews each application and decides whether to accept or not accept each applicant.  The College of Engineering requirements are listed below.  Even though you may not meet all the requirements, we encourage you to apply.  Acceptance into the College of Engineering program is on a case by case basis, and there is some flexibility in the requirements.
    • Once your application is reviewed it is returned to the Admissions & Records office and they alert you of your acceptance.

Applicants for admission to UH Manoa as freshmen must submit, with their applications, official Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT) scores, high school transcripts, and recommendations from high school officials. Applicants should have grades high enough to place them in the upper two-fifths of their graduating class.
