Service Award
2007 - 2008
PURPOSE:
To recognize outstanding service in support of the College of Engineering.
AMOUNT AND FREQUENCY OF AWARD:
Two $1,000 cash awards to be presented annually, subject to a threshold level of contribution determined by the Dean, one to a staff and one to a faculty.
ELIGIBILITY:
Faculty and staff employed by the College. Past recipients are not eligible until the third year after receiving the award.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Selection will be based on a demonstrated commitment to supporting the vision for the College of Engineering through tasks over and beyond their job description.
Examples of pertinent activities include, but are not limited to:

Developing implemented ideas for the College to save money and/or time. |
| 2. | Assisting other units (not necessarily in the College), using their special skills. |
| 3. | Assisting with preparation, coordination, or execution of special events that promote the College. |
| 4. | Volunteering for/participating in/assisting with activities of benefit to the College’s students, alumni, faculty, and staff, not typically associated with their job description. |
NOMINATIONS:
Written nominations should be submitted to the Dean by April 1, 2008. The nomination should present a strong case and should include supporting material to clearly demonstrate the quality and time of service to the College.
SELECTION:
The Dean will appoint a Selection Committee consisting of faculty and staff. The Committee will submit recommendations to the Dean no later than May 1, 2008 and the awards will be presented to the recipients at the College’s Service Awards Ceremony in the following fall.
