Over 40 representatives from the local tech industry, university, state government and military attended the CIMES Industry Day at UH Manoa.  The event, held at the East West Center's Hawaii Imin International Conference Center, was organized to build understanding, relationships and collaboration among industry stakeholders in CIMES or the National Center for Island, Maritime & Extreme Environment Security.  Led by a partnership between UH Manoa's College of Engineering and the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST), CIMES is one of 13 U.S. Department of Homeland Security Centers of Excellence created to conduct basic research to protect the country from terrorist threats and national disasters.
