Special dependenciesUsually, make uses the same command to create or update a target, regardless of which file changes. Some other files, such as libraries allow users to replace a portion of its code. For this kind of different behavior, make allows a special form of the dependency, where the action specified can differ, depending on which file has changed. Here is an example for this rule:
