Logical Style tags

These tags modify the appearance of text using logical styles. Most browsers render these styles with associated physical styles.

CITE Used to cite other documentation. none text
CODE Used to show source code examples. none text
EM Used to emphasize words or phrases. none text
KBD Used to show what a user would type in. none text
SAMP Used to show sample text from a program.none text
STRONG Used to make a strong emphasis on certain words or phrases. none text
VAR Used to denote words or phrases substituted by the user. none text

Examples:

This is cited work. This is <CITE>cited work</CITE>.
The sine function is sin(x). The sine function is <CODE>sin(x)</CODE>.
I said, "You are the killer." I said, "<EM>You</EM> are the killer."
First, type is to start COEIS. First, type <KBD>is</KBD> to start COEIS.
The program said, "SERVICE?" The program said, "<SAMP>SERVICE?</SAMP>"
Such illnesses are called psychosomatic. Such illnesses are called <STRONG>psychosomatic</STRONG>.
